Melissa A. Pittman, 47 years old of Owings Mills, died suddenly on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at her home.

Born August 25, 1965 in Lugoff, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William Oscar Pittman, Sr. and Shelby Branham Pittman.

She was the partner of Nicki Nicholson.

She was a registered nurse and charge nurse at the Springfield State Hospital Center and had served in a similar capacity in South Carolina before coming to Maryland. She enjoyed Sunday drives through the country, spending time with her partner and their circle of dear friends known as “The Clan” which included Lila Hunter, Octavia Taylor, Vicki Tolley, Christy Pscherer and Evelyn Washington.

In addition to her partner, she is survived by her sister Sue Ann Donahue, her brothers William Oscar Pittman, Jr., Carleton Anthony Pittman, Sr., Michael John Pittman, David McLaurin Pittman, Carleton Anthony Pittman, Jr. and Dalton Joseph Pittman. Also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 1st, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, Maryland. Rev. Mindy Coates officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM.
