David Harry Friedel, Sr. 67 years old of Glenwood, formally of Owings Mills, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at his home.
Born April 19, 1945 in Owings Mills, MD he was the son of the late Adolph Friedel and Eva Estelle Gaigley Freidel.
He was the husband of Diane Mallalieu Friedel, his wife of 44 plus years.
He served honorably with the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War serving aboard the USN Carpenter- DD825. He was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. He was an electrical engineer having retired after 31 years with Verizon. He was an avid Orioles Fan. He loved growing vegetables and working in his garden. He and his wife loved to travel and have visited 49 of the 50 States and have been to all the Major League Ball Parks. He also enjoyed building and flying remote controlled airplanes. He was a member of the South Carroll Aero Modelers Club. (S.C.A.M.)
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son David Harry Friedel, Jr. as well as other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Anne Friedel, D.V.M., six brothers and one sister.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, Nov.16th, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
Interment in Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, MD.
