Aaron Benbow age 85 of Manchester, MD. died Wednesday Feb. 2, 2011 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.

Born Feb. 14, 1925 in Summerton, South Carolina he was the son of the late Prince Myer and Annie Fludd Benbow. He was the husband of Dora Mae( Newman )Benbow his wife of 56 years.

He was a retired custodian for Baltimore County Board of Education. Years ago he was a farmer. He was a member of Crosswind Church in Westminster, MD.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Loretta Burnham and husband Larry of Severn, MD., Harriett Bellerby and husband Harry of Arnold, MD., Alneatha Benbow of Reisterstown, MD., Alfreda Slaughter and husband Kirk of New Castle, Delaware., Violetta Benbow of Pikesville, MD. and Darren Benbow of Baltimore, MD. Sister: Annie Trusell Pierce of Manning, South Carolina and brother: Freddie Benbow of Washington, DC. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings: Willie Jones, Myer and Tommy Benbow.

Funeral services will be held at the Crosswind Church, 640 Lucabaugh Mill Rd., Westminster, MD. on Tuesday at 11:30am. with Pastor David Sulcer officiating.


Interment will be in Dulaney Valley Mem. Gardens, Timonium, MD.


The family will receive friends at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. or on Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of service at 11:30am. at the church.
