Adam Edward Franklin, 65, of Reisterstown died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

He was born April 19, 1943 in Dundalk and was the son of the late Ida Bialorzynski Franklin. He was the husband of Sharon Ann Kelly Franklin, his wife of 43 years.

Mr. Franklin was a graduate of Dundalk High School and was a Cemeterian and Superintendant of Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery in Reisterstown for 30 years. In addition, he worked as a Superintendant for Mackenzie Services over seeing the farm.

He enjoyed raising cattle and farming as well as fishing, boating and nature. He loved restoring antique cars, motorcycles, music, old movies and his cats. He was very personable and everyone he came into contact with him became an instant friend.

He was an excellent story teller and would keep his audience captivated and hanging on each word. He loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters and son in law Ida May Gist of Westminster, Sharri Kelly and Michael Lee Miller of Taneytown; his grandchildren David, Anna, Benjamin Albaugh, Michael Lee Miller, Jr., Johnny Woodrum, and Wesley Kelly Miller; his sisters and brothers in law Bonnie Jackson, George and Patricia Dietz, and Donald Kelly.

He was predeceased by his father in law James E. Kelly, his sisters in law Barbara Kelly and Kitty Kelly, and his brother in law Ernie Jackson.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with his pastor Rev. John Aldrich officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Dundalk.

The family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
