On September 30, Dr. Alfred Karl Wiedmann of Mount Washington passed away at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Bielefeld, Germany and came to America in 1954 to practice medicine. He practiced Orthopedics for more than 50 years in Baltimore. In addition to his work, he enjoyed gardening, traveling and painting.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Jeannette Shriver Jones; four daughters, Jeannette S. McGowan of Baltimore, Maria M. and Ron Schaffer of Winterset, Iowa, Elisabeth A. Winter, Ursula M. and William Goldman of Baltimore; two sons, Alfred K. Wiedmann, Jr. of Fort Collins, Colorado and Peter K. Wiedmann of Baltimore; 15 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call at the home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Friday, October 2. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Mount Washington at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 3. Interment immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Gilchrest Hospice Care, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
