Allen L. Myers, Sr., 89, of Owings Mills died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his residence.

Born on Thursday, February 12, 1920 in Owings Mills, he was the son of the late George Harrison Myers and Ada Pearl Belt Myers. He was the husband of Patricia Lee Dougherty Myers, his wife of 68 years.

Mr. Myers was a plumber by trade. He was an active member of VFW Post 521 and member of the American Legion Post 116, the Bucks Club, and the Reisterstown Moose.

In his spare time, he enjoyed music and played the electric guitar.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Tim Myers and his wife Becky of Taneytown, Karen Sies and her husband David of Reisterstown, Jean Archibald and her companion Jeff Pittinger of Westminster; his daughter in law Sarah Myers, his grandchildren Shane Yelton, Abby Jackson, Tim Myers, David Sies, Carrie Sies, Hannah Archibald, Allen Patrick Myers, Aaron Myers and Allison Myers; his great grandchildren Paige, Sam and Finn; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Allen L. Myers, Jr. and his brothers George Myers and Robert Myers.

The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P. A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills where a VFW service will held Wednesday evening.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon with Msgr. Lloyd Aiken officiating.

Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the charity of one's choice.
