Anastasia "Ann" Blasi, 93, of Parkville, Maryland, formerly of Upperco, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Seasons Hospice of Franklin Square. Born on May 12, 1925 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Douglas K. and Josephine Spitznagel Haddaway. She was the wife of the late Salvatore F. Blasi who passed away on August 27, 2016. She was first married to the late James William Beam, Jr., who passed away on July 6, 1954.
She is survived by her three sons: James D. Beam and wife Colleen of W. Virginia, Thomas M. Beam and wife Kathy of Snydersburg, MD, and Joseph W. Beam and wife Theresa of Indiana, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a sister: Catherine Connelly of Annapolis.
Years ago, Anastasia worked as a dedicated teacher at Sacred Heart School in Glyndon, MD. She had many skills and hobbies, among them were sewing, cross stitch embroidery, playing tennis, travelling, and in the words of her children, "she never stopped teaching."
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 25, from 10-11 am at Oak Crest Chapel, 8800 Walther Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21234, where a funeral mass will be held at 11 am.
Interment is private at a later date.
