Andrew Charles Leone, Sr.

Andrew Charles Leone, Sr., 92, of Upperco, MD, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at his home. Born on September 23, 1927, in New Jersey he was the son of the late Joseph and Stella Salerno Leone. He was the loving husband of the late Carmela L. Leone, who passed away in 2011.

In 1951, Andrew graduated with a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. He worked 35 years for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. He was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church since 1969. Andrew was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a diehard Orioles and Ravens fan, a devoted father, and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving him are children: Andrea John and husband Michael, Andrew Charles Leone, Jr. and wife Angela, and Carmela Bell and husband Neil, son-in-law: Bud Shearer, grandchildren: Kere, Danielle, Will, Jamie, Michael, Nichole, Gabrielle, David, Andrew III, Eric, Vincent, and Rachel, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter: Vallory Shearer, and three sisters and two brothers.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 27, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 28, at 1 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071. Interment to follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Lutherville-Timonium, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in Andrew's name to a charity of one's choice that focuses on breast cancer and/or breast cancer research.
