Ann Carol Irwin

Ann Carol Irwin, 86, of West Fenwick, DE, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020, in Delaware. Born on September 12, 1933, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edwin James Sr., and Mary Cuddy Rhoades. She was the beloved wife of the late William Irwin.

Ann graduated from Seton High in 1951 and continued her participation in the Seton High Alumni luncheons for several years after her graduation.  In 1999, she and her husband moved to West Fenwick's Bayview Estates.  Ann immediately embraced her new community and quickly established many long-term friendships with the local residents, many of whom would join her for weekly Line Dancing and Curves Fitness. She was an active member of the "Red Hatters" group, Delaware Hospice, and St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Surviving her are her sons: David Irwin of West Fenwick, DE, and Douglas Irwin of NYC, NY. She is also survived by three grandsons: Shaw Irwin of Salt Lake City, UT, Jack Irwin of Los Angeles, CA, and Connor Irwin of NYC, NY. Her surviving siblings include Patricia Leitner of Poolesville MD, Elizabeth Rhoades of Westminster, MD, Michelle Crudden of Pikesville, MD, and Joyce Rhoades of San Diego, CA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, and on Thursday, February 27 from 9:30-10 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral liturgy will begin at 10 am. Interment to follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville, MD.
