Anna Rae Brodbeck age 74 of Hampstead, MD. died Wednesday July 23,2008 at her home.
Born July 3,1934 in Boring, MD. she was the daughter of the late Elisha Joshua and Emma Steger Grothe. She was the wife of John William Brodbeck,Sr.
She retired from Penn Fruit Co. and worked for Liff's Market in Washington DC for 10 years.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her family,and friends, cooking, reading, and working. Her tireless energy provided support to anyone who needed her help. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Surviving in addition to her husband are son and daughter in law: John William Brodbeck,Jr. and Beate Brodbeck of Hampstead, MD. Step-daughter: Yvonne Marie Brodbeck Shaw of Moyock, NC. Grandchildren: John William Brodbeck,III and Jessica Annemarie Brodbeck both of Hampstead, MD.;Kimberly Ann Shaw and Richard Allen Shaw,Jr. both of Moyock, NC. Step-great grandchildren: Lauren Shaw, Richard Shaw III and Alexis Shaw all of Moyock, NC. Special nephew: Richard Brodbeck of New Oxford, PA. Brothers: Elisha Grothe,Jr. of Keymar W.Va, Edgar Grothe of Ozark, MO, Joseph Grothe of Baltimore, MD. and John A. Grothe of Upperco, MD. Sisters: Lottie McDonald of Sabillasville, MD. Leona Rohrbaugh of Hampstead, MD. Mary King and Beatrice Thomas both of Baltimore, MD. Hazel Liff of Riva, MD. and June Stremmel of SpingGrove, PA.
She was predeceased by bothers: Charles and Donald Grothe, Sister: Betty Hall and son in law: Richard Allen Shaw,Sr.
Private funeral services where held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. Manchester, MD. on Friday July 25,2008 with the Rev. David Bare officiating.
