Anna Turner-Shearer

Anna Turner-Shearer, 78, of Stuartsdraft, VA, passed away on April 17, 2018 in Stanton, VA. Born on November 12, 1939, in Kaiser, WV, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Strickler and Ida Rebecca Kuykendall Weatherholtz. She was the wife of David Shearer and the late Ralph Vernon Turner.

Years ago, Anna worked as a nursing staffing coordinator, and after retirement she became a floral designer. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and line dancing. Anna was a member of the Staunton Church of the Brethren in Staunton, VA, Bishopville SC Presbyterian Church, as well as the Pilot Club and the Red Hat Society.

Surviving in addition to her husband are children: Lana Turner-Fuller of FL, Christine Agostine-Merrick of Hanover, PA, and Roger Vernon Turner of SC, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and siblings: Robert Weatherholtz, Lulu Alt, and Brenda Weatherholtz.

She was predeceased by a son: Ralph Paul Turner and siblings: Harry W. Weatherholtz and Linda Oliver.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 22, from 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23, at 11 am, with Pastor Scott Duffy officiating. Interment to follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD.
