Arthur "Otts" Louis Sauers

Arthur "Otts" Louis Sauers, 84, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born on October 23, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lillian Marie Deal Sauers. He was the beloved husband of the late Ella May Mary Sauers, who passed in 2014.

In his younger years, Otts was a computer programmer for banking and insurance. He was a longtime member of Greenmount United Methodist Church since 1970. Otts enjoyed camping, traveling, horses, and coaching his children in baseball, basketball, and football. He loved listening to music, playing sports, and spending time with his family.

Surviving him are children: Kent Sauers and wife Dana, Kathy Spence, Karen Shuff and husband Daniel, and Kurt Sauers and wife Kimberly, grandchildren: Rebecca, Nathaniel, Adrian, Alexander, Jason, Krista, Jamie, Klay, and Kollin, 8 great-grandchildren, and sister: Arlene Hale and husband Roy "Doug".

He was predeceased by a brother: Dwight Ronald Sauers.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 9, from 10 am – 12 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. Due to the ongoing pandemic, face masks and social distancing are required.

Funeral services and interment are private.
