Arthur Leroy Ruby

Arthur Leroy Ruby, 89, of Hampstead passed peacefully, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Westminster. Born June 3, 1926 in Syndersburg, he was the son of the late Raymond F. Ruby and Edna Marie Hare Ruby. He was the husband of Geraldine May Seipp. He was a sign maker for 3M Company and was a life member of the American Legion Post 200 in Hampstead where he had served a Post Commander. He as veteran of the United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and making grandfather clocks.
In addition to his wife, he survived by his son Steven Leroy Ruby and wife Ellen of Millers; his grandchildren Angela Auchey and husband Ryan and Jessica Ruby; his great-grandson Laim Auchey; and his siblings Edith Gardener of New Oxford, PA, Russell Ruby of Hampstead, and Paul Milton Ruby of Virginia. He was predeceased by his siblings Mary Harris, William David Ruby, Carroll Franklin Ruby, Gladys O'Connor, and Dorothy Hale.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Ruby's name to the Hampstead American Legion, Post 200, 4600 Legion Ln, Hampstead, MD 21074.
