Atlee H. Conaway, Jr. 89 years old of Finksburg, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Edenwald Nursing Home in Towson.
Born October 18, 1921 in Owings Mills, he was the son of the late Atlee H. Conaway, Sr. and Margaret Buckingham Conaway.
He was the husband of Barbara Leiby Conaway.
He was a construction supervisor with J. Vinton Schaefer Construction Company for 40 years. He served honorably in WWII with the Army Air Force. He was a member and past president of the Roaring Run Lions Club, an avid woodworker and artist, a nature lover and spent time at his property in WV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 5 step-children, 14 step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his 1st wife, Hilah T. Conaway in 1984 and his siblings: Virginia Alterman and Mary Williams.
Friends may call on Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Clarence L. Roark officiating.
Interment in Providence Church Cemetery, Gamber.
