Barbara Lou Hopewood, 79, of Naples, FL passed away suddenly on October 12, 2018 in Roanoke, VA. Born on November 8, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor Mahron Homer. She was the loving wife of the late Pasquale Antonelli and late Paul Hopewood who passed away in 1986 and 2014, respectively.

She was a graduate of the Notre Dame College in Baltimore, Maryland, and worked as both an Elementary School teacher and Director of Religious Education at Sacred Heart School and Parish in Glyndon, Maryland.

In the late 1990s, Barbara relocated to Naples, Florida and became an active member of her Church, St Agnes Parish, as well as her community, Quail Creek Village, for many years. Barbara was an avid golfer, seamstress, knitter, and quilter.

Surviving her is her brother, Robert Homer of Kennesaw, GA. Also surviving her are her children: Dr. Carol Antonelli-Greco and husband Dr. Rick Greco, Scott Antonelli and wife Tammie, John Antonelli and wife Helen, Maria Healey and husband Brian, and Angela Hoddinott and husband Michael. Surviving step children are Dr. Peter Hopewood and wife Linsey, Jane Hopewood, and Carolyn Carroll and husband Dan.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Pasquale, Christian, Maria, Sophia, Gabriela, Gregory, Alison, Pat, Santino, Dominic, Alexandra, Julia, Nicholas, CJ, Giana, and step-grandchildren, Andrew, Ian, Gavin, Daniel, Elizabeth, Joan, and Kristen. She is survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday , October, 17, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117 . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 18 , at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071 . Interment to follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Cockeysville, MD.
