Barbara Lee Plempel-LeBrun, 73, of Monkton, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson.
Born Dec. 25, 1939, in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilma Mayne Ellis and Richard DeWitt Ellis. Twice married, she was the wife of Alfred Clair Plempel, who died in 1999, her husband of 41 years; and of Howard "Lee" LeBrun, her husband of 10 years.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hereford United Methodist Church and a past member of Millers United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addtion to her husband, are brother and sister-in-law Richard and Joyce Ellis, of Manchester; a son, Wayne Plempel, of Lancaster, Pa.; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and William Cooper, of Bishopville, and Cindy and Mark Hare, of Manchester; and grandchildren Sarah, Sean and Serena Hare, Claire and Mitchell Cooper, and Andrew and Eric Plempel.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester; and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Monday at Millers United Methodist Church, 3435 Warehime Road, Manchester. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to NESAP, 1046 S. Carroll St., Hampstead, MD 21074; or Hereford United Methodist Church, Food Pantry, 16931 York Road, Monkton, MD 21111.
