Beatrice "Bea" Louise Singer King, 88 of Hampstead, MD. passed peacefully Thursday April 20, 2017 at the Golden Crest Assisted Living Facility on St. Paul Rd. Hampstead. Born June 15, 1928 in Hampstead she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Maizie Lucinda Weaver Singer. She was the wife of 52 years to the late Roland Edwin King who died in 2001.
Bea was a graduate of Hampstead School and a resident of Hampstead, her entire life. She worked for C & P Telephone Co. for many years and was a lifelong, active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Reisterstown.
Surviving are daughter and caretaker, Joyce King Brown and husband Allen of Hampstead, grandson, Jeremy King and wife Lara; their children Brooke and Jacob, son Jay Edwin King and wife Lynn of North Carolina, grandsons, Stephen King and Nathan King, granddaughter, Allison K. Rhodes and husband Kyle, their children, Caroline and Charlotte; step-granddaughters, Jennifer Thomas and Sarah Thomas and fiancé Joseph Ashdale and their daughter Lilly Kate. Sisters; Nora Lee Armacost of Hampstead, Elsie Zumbrun of Westminster, Deloris Peregoy of Hampstead, sister in law, Genevieve Singer of Hampstead, plus numerous, family and friends.
One of 13 children, she was predeceased by 9 siblings.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, PA. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 15300 Dover Rd., Reisterstown, MD, 21136 on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:30 am. with the Rev. Dick Harden officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove. U. M. Church.
