Bernice Dalmau Calkins, 101, of Pikesville, MD, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Gilchrist Center Baltimore – Joseph Richey House in Baltimore, MD. Born on January 9, 1921, in Rainelle, WV, she was the daughter of the late Toby W. and Daisy Simms McClung. Married three times, she was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Louis Dalmau, the late Arthur Caltrider, and the late Charles Calkins.
Years ago, Bernice worked as a registered nurse, and she was a licensed real estate agent and broker. She was an avid golfer and artist, and she was especially known for her oil paintings. Bernice enjoyed sewing, and she was a great cook.
Surviving Bernice are her children: Richard Dalmau and his wife Anna, Daniel Dalmau, and Gary Dalmau, grandchildren: Zachary Dalmau and Cindy Furze, and a great-grandson: Finn Furze. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Haven, Hazel, Billy, Thelma, Hilbert, Leslie, Gladys.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 28, at 11 am at Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Ave, Baltimore, MD 21208.
Arrangements are by the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., Owings Mills, MD.
