Bertha Makowske Trainor, 95, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Towson, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Utz Terrance in Hanover.
Born July 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ann Dernoga Makowske. She was the wife of John Eugene Trainor Sr., her husband of eight years, who died in 1954.
She was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church. She was retired from the University Of Maryland Medical School, where she had been an administration assistant.
Surviving are children Doris Ann Potash and husband Louis, of Baltimore, and John E. Trainor Jr. and wife Carol, of Manchester; grandchildren Catrina Trainor Adams, Rebecca Trainor Redding, and Emily, Joshua and Nathan Elec Trainor; and great-grandchildren Aydin and Gavin Redding.
She was predeceased by brothers Leonard, Edward and Raymond Makowske.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with a Requiem Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 3071 Park Ave., Manchester, with the Rev. Michael Roach officiating.
Interment will be in Baltimore National Cemetery in Catonsville.
