Betty Lee Engle, 89, of Manchester died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born September 14, 1924 in Carroll County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Edna Tawney Alexander. She was the wife of Charles Reno Engle, Jr., her husband of 42 years, who died in 1987.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Ionic Chapter 73, where she had been a Past Worthy Matron. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and attending craft fairs with her daughter.
Surviving are her children Charles Reno Engle, III, Jane Carol Engle, and Jeffrey Lee Engle; her grandchildren Michelle Gibbs and Kimberly Thomas; and her great-grandchildren Katie, Connor, Quentin, and Eleanor.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Rev. Jarrett Wicklein officiating.
Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Ellicott City.
