Betty L. Gusler, 81, of Reisterstown died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown.
Born January 8, 1932 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter Garber and Hilda Whitcomb Garber Hiers. She was the wife of the late George R. Gusler.
She was a homemaker who dedicated her life helping her community and volunteered for 40 years for the Owings Mills Department of Parks and Recreation, concentrating with the Department of Aging. She was the chairman of the Owings Mills Recreation Council Ballet Program. She was the President of the Owings Mills Golden Age Club.
Surviving are her children Linda Pescatore of Florida, Sandra Stocksdale of Reisterstown, Donna Alder of Westminster, and Rhonda Buchman of Hanover, PA; her siblings Hilda Sullivan of Idaho, Robert Garber of Ellicott City, Stanley Garber of Florida, Elizabeth Heinbauch of Linthicum, John Whitcomb of Eldersburg, and Eleanor Beck of Maine; her 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother Edward Garber.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday.
A private cremation will be held at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel, Manchester.
Interment will be private.
