Betty Jean Kates

Betty Jean Kates, 85, of Joppa, MD, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her residence. Born on March 21, 1932 in Hampden, MD, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Alice Jackson Bourne. She was the wife of the late George L. Kates.

Surviving her is her son: George L. Kates, Jr. and wife Tracy of Joppa, MD, and grandchildren: Samantha, Taylor and Brooke.

Interment is private.

A memorial service will be held at her son's home, 617 Twin Brook Lane, Joppa, MD 21085 on Sunday May 7, 2017 at 2:00pm.
