Bettye D. Jackson, age 86 of Finksburg, MD, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday Dec. 27, 2015.
Born April 19, 1929 in Baltimore County, MD she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mamie Louise Townsend Tenney. She was the wife of the late Bernard Louis Jackson who died in 1997.
She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Bible Church where she was active and taught Sunday School for 60 years.
She is survived by her children, Judy Slone of Silver Lake Indiana, Richard Jackson and wife Diane of Manchester, MD, Paul Jackson and wife Edie of Gordonville, PA, Linda Muller and husband Bruce of Union Bridge, MD, Debbie Wisner and companion John Saunders of Westminster, MD, Danny Jackson and wife Peggy of Westminster, MD, Gary Jackson and wife Tracey of Abbeville, South Carolina, Susan Jackson Snyder and husband Jeffery of Bedford, PA, and Steve Jackson and wife Paula of Manchester, MD. sisters, Cora McCauley of Reisterstown, MD and Bernice Scholl of Littlestown, PA. sister in law, Laura Tenney of Taneytown, MD. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by siblings, Geneva Follmeyer, Roy, Frank, Ernest, Fred and Jerry Tenney.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 and Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 with the Rev. Roger Boguski officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 2447 Hampstead Mexico Road, Westminster, MD 21157-3943 or Olivet Ministries International, P. O. Box 122, Lewisville, PA 19351.
