Blanche Helen Mills, 98, of Reisterstown, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Dove House. Born on September 3, 1924 in New London,
Connecticut, Blanche was the oldest child of the late James Curtis Malaney and Blanche Helen Malaney (Fleury). She was later to become the "big sister" of a set of triplets born to James and Blanche in San Diego, CA. They have predeceased her, but were known as the first triplets born in the Navy.
Blanche's life revolved around military service as a "Navy Brat", a Navy wife and a Civil Service employee. After retiring from Civil Service, she moved to Manchester from Goose Creek, SC to be close to her oldest daughter and son. Blanche volunteered for the Office of Aging and Meals on Wheels in Westminster. She was an avid reader, amazing seamstress, knitter and crafter.
Blanche is survived by her children: Rebecca "Becky" Martin and husband, Ted of Manchester, Judith Cole and husband, Tom of Woodstock, GA; Eugenia Brown of Reisterstown and John Malaney Mills and wife, Amber of Myerstown, PA. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Tim Martin, Andrew Cole, Sarah Martin Anders, Adam Cole, Rebekah Chambers, Joseph Mills, Kathryn Mills and Emily Brown, and eleven great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a half brother, Joseph Malaney of Sarasota, FL and nieces and nephews.
Blanche was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Runeburg and triplet siblings Patricia Gray, James Malaney and Curtis Malaney.
Blanche's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Autumn Lake at Longview in Manchester and to Dove House for the loving care she received along her journey home.
