Bonita Christine Sterner

Bonita "Bon Bon" Christine Sterner, 70, of Hampstead, MD, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.  Born on May 14, 1954, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Hare and Audrey Bowman Hare.  She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Edward Charles Sterner.

Bonnie worked as a day-care provider for over 20 years, raising 48 children in addition to her own two. She was a hard worker; she enjoyed her job and was a mom figure to many.  She enjoyed reading her Bible and books. She also liked putting puzzles together, crocheting, and singing in the choir.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are children: Matthew Sterner and wife Molly, Stacey Hinton, grandchildren: Kevin Sterner, Katlyn Fogle and husband Joe, and great-grandchildren: Kayden and Jayce.  She is also survived by her siblings: Russell Hare and wife Joanne, Gail Hare, Vicki Howard and husband Keith, Earl Hare and Mary Carter-Rill, David Hare and wife Tina, brother-in-law: Mark Wooleyhand, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was predeceased by her sister: Evelyn Wooleyhand.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 27, from 9:30 – 10:30 am, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am.

Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
