Brian Leroy "Buck" Rill

Brian Leroy “Buck” Rill, 63, of Hampstead, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Born May 24, 1963, Buck was the son of the late Sterling and Martha Rill.

Buck spent his working years in the family business, Rill Construction.

Buck was an avid collector of hit-and-miss gas engines and served as a director of the Maryland Steam Historical Society for at least 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Abbott Rill; stepdaughter, Nicole Wilson; sister, Vicky Rill and her partner, Diana Zabetakis; brothers, Dale Rill and his partner, Jane Swiney; Darren Rill and his wife, Cheryl Rill; and Jamey Rill and his wife, Jodi Rill.

Buck will be cremated, and no funeral service will be held at this time. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date, with details to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Buck’s memory to the Maryland Steam Historical Society or the American Kidney Fund.

Buck will be remembered by his family, friends, and fellow antique engine enthusiasts.
