C. Ivan Cole age 81 of Hampstead, MD. entered into his Heavenly home on Thursday Dec. 26,2013 at the Longview Nursing Home in Manchester, MD.
Born July 3,1932 in Butler MD he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Elsie Wertmiller Cole. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Nellie Jane Bosley Cole.
He was a retired carpenter and local pastor for 54 years in the United Methodist church and was an active member and leader of Boring United Methodist Church. His family and church came first, he also enjoyed gardening, fishing, nature, woodworking, walking and family get togethers.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children and spouses: Gene and Connie Cole, Joy Storm, Jeff Cole , Victor and Tammy Cole, Wendy and Steve Corbin. Siblings Mary Kathryn Topper and the Rev. Dr. Calvin Cole and wife Janet. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 6 siblings.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Monday at 11:00 am. with the Rev. Gertrude Greene officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. and on Monday from 10:00am until time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Longview Nursing Home, Resident Activities Fund C/O Jeanie Garland, 3332 Main St. Manchester, MD. 21102.
