Carl S. Reter, 87 years old of Owings Mills, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born December 11, 1923 in Owings Mills, he was the son of the late Chester Alexander Reter and Tillie Gill Reter.
He was the husband of Miriam Stultz Reter for 67 years.
He was a dairy farmer most of his life. He was the last dairy farmer in Owings Mills. After the death of his parents, the farm was sold. He then did work with his backhoe, crawler and bobcat. He was a member of Reisterstown Moose Lodge #1577 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Hanover Aerie #1406. He loved to dance and travel with his wife. Their travels took them to 49 of the 50 states excluding California.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws: Steven Reter, Sr. and wife JoAnn, of Owings Mills, Dennis Reter, Sr. and wife Judy, of Manchester and David Reter and wife Ann, of Reisterstown; grandchildren: Kerri Carter, Krystal Martin, Dennis Reter, Jr., Steven Reter, Jr., Brandon, Sarah and Emily Reter; great grandchildren: Jeremy Carter, Tyler Martin and Alexander Martin; and sisters: Charlotte Harmon and Leona Caples.
He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Jane Reter and a brother, Lawrence Reter.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Raymond T. Moreland officiating.
Interment in Carroll's Cemetery.
