Carl Francis Zamerelli

On April 4, 2016, Carl Francis Zamerelli, peacefully passed away in love and faith. He was born in Martin, PA on July 12, 1922. He was the son of Italian immigrants the late Nicola and Angelina (Carolla) Zamerelli brother to the late Antoinette D. Uhall and Mary L. Zamerelli. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Faraone Zamerelli and father to the late Paula Zamerelli Ehmann. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carla Zamerelli-Clifford and Daniel E. Clifford, son-in-law William F. Ehmann, grandchildren David R. Clifford and his wife Megan, Jena A. Ehmann, Danielle N. Clifford and her fiancé David Earles, Sarah C. Ehmann, Rachel E. Ehmann and great grandchildren Benjamin M. Clifford, and Scarlett R. Clifford. He leaves behind many friends especially his caregivers, Shelley Six, Chelsea Canova and Jessica Lee.
Carl graduated from All Saints Catholic School, Masontown, PA and then joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. in Oakland, Maryland. He came to Baltimore after serving with the CCC. He worked for Glenn L. Martin prior to enlisting in the United States Navy where he served for fifteen years that included World War II and Korea. He was a proud member of the Baltimore City Police Department where he retired as a sergeant in June of 1972. He worked for the State of Maryland Comptroller Office before retiring in 1983.
He will be remembered as loyal and loving to his friends and family. His Catholic faith was evident in his prayerful words and actions. He was a member of Sacred Heart in Glyndon Parish as well as St. Joseph's in Taneytown. His wonderful storytelling and gracious ways will be sorely missed.

Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. In his memory, contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation 9891 Broken Land Parkway.
