Carol Ann Beebe Popolano passed away at her home in Hanover, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, August 15, 2026 surrounded by family after a prolonged and courageous battle with COPD and pulmonary fibrosis.
Born November 8,1948, in Chestnut Ridge, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Brian Beebe and Oma Vertie (Blair) Beebe.
She was the former wife of Mike Popolano, and the late Paul Fenker.
Carol graduated from Franklin High School in 1968 in Reisterstown, Maryland.
Carol lived a life of service to others! She was the hostess of most gatherings with family and friends. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel at home and for turning ordinary moments into meaningful memories.
Music and dancing were an important part of her life. She was an accomplished ballroom dancer and taught at her Hanover studio, the Hanover Country Club, and later at her home.
Carol was a proprietor of Beebe’s Tea Room and taught etiquette classes. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors and cherished spending time by the ocean.
Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her character, and she generously shared it with others, including hosting a weekly Bible study in her home. Carol was enthusiastic about learning, and trying new things throughout her life.
Carol will be especially remembered for her deep love of family and friends. Her infectious smile lit up a room and her laughter brought joy to those around her.
She is survived by her sisters, Agnes L. Dixon and husband, George “Sonny”, Rochelle “Shelley” Beebe, Eileen Zepp and husband, C. L. “Junior”, Charlene M. Seekford, honorary sister, Tish Swam and sister in law, Rosemary Beebe, including many nieces and nephews. She’s also survived by stepson, Jeff Fenker and son, Stephen Tamburo III.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold R. and Dennis M. Beebe; sisters, Wanda J. Fadely and husband, Richard, Martha G. Sherrick and husband, Ray.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for A Celebration of Life ceremony Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Lazarus United Church of Christ, 5101 S. Church Street, Lineboro, Maryland. Visitation will be 10:00 -11:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rodney C. Gross and Pastor Jim Crocker of Bible Fellowship Church of Reisterstown, Maryland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol’s honor may be made to a charity/church of your choice or American Lung Association of Maryland: Executive Plaza 1, Ste 600, 11350 McCormick Rd, Hunt Valley, MD 21031
