Carroll C. Hiltner, 78 years old of Reisterstown, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Seasons Hospice in Randallstown.
Born October 19, 1930 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Lillie Haslaup Hiltner.
He was the husband of Joan R. Lange Hiltner.
Mr. Hiltner served with the U.S. Navy. At one time he worked for the Howard Uniform Company, and he owned & operated the L & M Meats Stall at Lexington Market in Baltimore. He was a trainer & breeder of thoroughbred horses. He owned and operated his own Horse Transportation Business that had him travel from New York to Kentucky and all in between. He was a member of the American Legion .
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hiltner is survived by his children and their spouses, Deborah and Scott Spanburg of Baltimore, Dawn and Chuck Burrs of Middle River, Diane and Timothy Keeney of Westminster, Dwayne and Noelle Hiltner of Finksburg and Dale and Deborah Hiltner of Eldersburg.
Also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Brother of Iris Warnick, Lilly Adams, Ronald Hiltner and Sandra Federman. He was predeceased by a brother and 2 sisters, Charles Hiltner, Lorraine Skipper and Anna Proescher.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Christ The King Lutheran Church,
515 Academy Ave. Owings Mills, 21117 from 9:00 – 11:00AM at which time a Memorial Service will be held. Rev. Harry M. Krolus officiating.
Interment Private.
