Carroll Leon Ruby

Carroll Leon Ruby, 84, of Finksburg, MD, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Bridging Life Hospice in Westminster, MD.

Born on March 12, 1938 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late George Washington Ruby and Ray Louise Kiler Ruby He was the husband of the late Sarah Virginia Zimmerman Ruby, who passed in 2016.

Carroll was retired road supervisor for the Maryland State Highway Administration where he received numerous awards. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a big Gaither Music Fan.

He is survived by children: Suzy Whittaker of Pennsylvania and Jason Ruby and fiancée Brittney of Finksburg, MD, grandchildren: Tiffany, Lakoda, Clayton and Cordell and siblings: George R. Ruby of Montana, Kathileen Cartzendafner of Littlestown, PA, Judy Utz and husband Charlie of Gettysburg, PA, Helen Crumbie of Westminster, MD, Ruthy Cook of Airville, PA, and Phillip Ruby of Essex, MD.

He was predeceased by siblings: Phyllis Harvey and Bob Ruby.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, PA., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 10 am. until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
