Carson Franklin Moyer, 93, of Owings Mills, MD died Saturday, January 9, 2016. Born December 2, 1922, in Luray, Virginia, he was the eldest son of the late J. Frank Moyer and Elsie May Miller Moyer. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary Evelyn Amoss Moyer. He was predeceased by brothers David Lee and Eugene Dailey Moyer.
Carson graduated from the University of Maryland College of Engineering in 1943 and served as a Lieutenant in the Navy during WWII. In 1948, his father established with Carson and his other three sons The Moyer Motor Company, a Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Baltimore which operated for over 30 years. He was a serious amateur photographer, loved playing cards, board games and doing word puzzles. He played golf and tennis and was an avid home team sports fan.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Judy C. and Thomas R. Bower Sr. of Finksburg, MD and son and daughter-in-law Gregory F. and Mary C. Moyer of Cary, NC; granddaughter Terri Smith and husband Leonard of Baltimore, MD; grandson Thomas Bower Jr. and wife Amanda of Reisterstown, MD; grandsons Carson C. and Griffin A. Moyer of Cary, NC; great-grandson Trevor Bower, and great-granddaughters Lerae and Chloe Smith, Miranda and Nina Bower. He is also survived by brother Duane G. Moyer and many nieces and nephews.
A private service and interment was held on Monday, January 18, 2016.
