Charles Bartholomew Buckley

Charles Bartholomew Buckley, 84, of Parkville, MD, formerly of Naples, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his home. Born on June 29, 1940, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Bartholomew Bert and Mildred Louise Niedbalson Buckley. He was the beloved husband of Mary Jeanne Buckley, and his former wife: the late Florence Buckley.

Charles was a retired Major of the United States Army. He served three tours in Vietnam, and was a member of the Special Forces Green Berets. Charles was very committed to his Catholic Faith. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and watching the New York Jets and New York Yankees. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Charles Buckley and wife Kirsten, Michael Buckley and wife Lisa, Lou Santoni and wife Sue, Julie Campbell and husband Steve, Michael Santoni and wife Cheryl, Gina Santoni and wife Michelle Yingling, Rick Santoni and wife Ginger, and Jennifer Poore and husband Paul, grandchildren: Justin, Ryan C., Jackie, Logan, Ryan N., Randy, Elisa, Abbi, Michael, Ben, Max, Gabe, Ella, Luke, Mia, and Gigi, great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Austin, Myles, and Colton, sister: Carolyn Cooper and husband Ellis, and sisters-in-law: Fran Gast and Donna Dippel.

He was predeceased by brothers-in-law: Bob Gast, John Neubauer and Art Dippel, and sister-in-law: Gini Neubauer.

The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 9:30 – 10:45 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071, where a Funeral Mass will begin at 10:45 am.
