Charles Calvin Calp, Sr.

Charles Calvin Calp, Sr., 89, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on October 27, 2018, at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on March 6, 1929, in Sparks, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Washington Calp and Daisy Nye (Spicer). He was the loving husband of the late Mary Louise Calp (Rill).

Calvin was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Years ago, he enjoyed racing cars, and also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the Senior Center.

Surviving him are children: Charlie Calp, Jr., of Horntown, VA, Cass Calp and wife Traci of Hampstead, MD, Craig Calp and girlfriend Cindy Kemp of Horntown, VA, and Chad Calp of Hampstead, MD, several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter: Christy McGarity, and a sister: Betty Skipper.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 1, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, at 10 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 4618 Black Rock Rd, Upperco, MD 21155. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
