Charles Everett "Ed" Gardner age 73 of Manchester, MD and Davenport, Fl. died Friday November 21, 2014 at his home in Manchester.

Born February 28, 1941 in Baltimore he was the son of the late Charles Wesley and Elmira Bushnell Gardner.

He was the husband of Vicki "Rusty" Diane Williams Gardner with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage on Nov. 20, 2014.

He was raised by his aunt and uncle, the late Carroll "Unk" and Mabel Owings Brown.

He worked for over 40 years of service in multiple positions for Acme Foods, Super Thrift and Festival Foods. He was a 1959 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of Manchester Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time in Florida with his friends where he was very active in his community.


Surviving in addition to his wife are children and spouces, Patricia McKinley and Tom of Reisterstown, MD, Stacy Gardner and Dirk Higgs also of Reisterstown, MD and Matthew Gardner and Tracy of Manchester, MD. Siblings, Vernon Gardner of Finksburg, MD, Deborah Watkins of Abbottstown, PA and Betty Jo Meshyock of Thompsontown, PA. Grandchildren, Matthew, Heather, Bryce, Trenton, Jayden and Karsyn.


A memorial service will be held at the Manchester Baptist Church, 2933 Manchester Baptist Church Rd., Manchester, MD 21102 on Wednesday Nov. 26, 2014 at 1:00 pm. with the Rev. David Scafide officiating.


Interment will be private.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
