Charles "Joe" Richard Franey age 82 of Hanover, PA. died Sunday Dec.30, 2012 at the Hanover General Hospital in Hanover, PA.
Born Jan. 26, 1930 in Baltimore, MD. He was the son of the late Edward and Theresa Miller Franey. He was the husband of the late Pauline Elizabeth White Franey who died in 2003.
He was retired from Continental Can where he had worked for 43 years as a machinist.
Surviving are children: Jo Ann Yohe and husband Neal of Hanover, PA., Deborah Jane Franey of Reisterstown, MD. and David Wayne Franey and wife Gail of Littlestown, PA., Brother of Madeline Lucas of Reisterstown, MD., Janet Metzbower of Eldersburg, MD., Edward and Robert Franey both of Catonsville, MD. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings: Margaret Carter, Dorothy Casey, William, Catherine and Dolores Franey.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Friday at 11:00am.
Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
