Charles Henry Hoke, Jr., 86, of Windsor Mill, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Born on December 30, 1931 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Sr., and Clara May Hoke. He was the husband of the late Anna Elizabeth Hoke.
Surviving him are his children: Katherine J. Smith, Charles H. Hoke III, Richard W. Hoke, Anna M. LaMartina, Ernest J. Hoke, and Susan C. Hoke, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister: Doris May Lough, and many adopted and adored family members.
He predeceased by a sister: Adelaide Virginia Ashburn.
Charles retired from Dickeys Mill Textiles after 25 years of service. He also worked for Tate Engineering for 10 years and had other jobs before starting his career with the Baltimore County government as a CDL truck driver. He was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served his country from October 1952 to September 1954.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 28, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, at 10 am. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
