Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Cowman, 85, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born on February 1, 1939, in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late George Grason Cowman, Sr. and Evelyn Ruth Buckingham Cowman.
After graduating from Franklin High School in 1957 in Reisterstown, MD, he proudly served in the Air Force and then worked for United Airlines as a ramp serviceman at BWI airport in Baltimore for 30 plus years. After retiring from the airlines, he continued to work for his "Big Brother" and Cowman family patriarch George Cowman, Jr. in the excavating business in Reisterstown for many years.
Known to many as "Uncle Kenny." He had a lifelong passion for aviation and loved flying his own paraplanes. He was a self-taught painting artist and automotive fabricator. He restored numerous Model A Fords into street rods and proudly displayed his cars at National street rod shows across the country with his nephew Keith Cowman for many years. He also was a lifelong Corvette Car enthusiast; he always had one in the garage he could take for a weekend drive and then enjoy a good pasta meal afterwards. Kenny loved the outdoors, the legendary snowmobiling trips to Canada with his brothers, nephews, and friends, deer hunting, spending time with family, and attending sprint car races at the local dirt tracks in Central Pennsylvania.
Surviving him is a son: Kenneth "Neil" Cowman and wife Stephanie of South Bend, IN, grandchild: Kinsey Cowman, and brother: George G. Cowman, Jr. of Reisterstown, MD. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Kenny was predeceased by his siblings: Mary Ellen Craig, Janet R. Nichols, Edward H. Cowman, and Lynda L. Gittere.
Funeral services and interment are private.
