Charles Joseph Lazzelle, Sr.

Charles Joseph Lazzelle, Sr., 86, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at his home. Born on December 2, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Barron and Mary Helena Piraino Lazzell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia A. Lazzelle; his children, Charles J. Lazzelle, Jr (Arhea) and Amy Kathleen McShane (Michael); three grandchildren, Claudia, Veronica, and Michael; his sister, Josephine Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was a proud graduate of Baltimore City College. Following high school, Charles served in the United States Army for three years. Where served as a medic. Charles then worked as a materials engineer for the Maryland State Highway Administration for 43 years. During his retirement years, Charles enjoyed gardening, walking his dogs (Gypsy, Teddy, and Nicky), travelling, and watching Baltimore Ravens games.

"Charlie" or "Joe," as he was known to family and friends, was known for his boisterous personality, his love of cooking, and regaling strangers across the USA with tales of Baltimore and the things that made it special. He had an opinion on most every topic and was never shy about speaking his mind. Charlie had a memorable personality and brought millions of smiles to those who were lucky enough to know him.

Memorial services and interment are private.
