Charles H. "Buck" Lutz Sr., 91, of Manchester died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Longview Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born Feb. 13, 1916, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Adam Charles and Josephine Ruck Lutz. He was the husband of Margaret C. Brooks Lutz, who died Jan. 29, 2006.

He was an Army veteran. He was a diesel mechanic for Bethlehem Steel Ship Yard and had been the owner and operator of the Manchester Inn.

He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Manchester and the Lineboro-Manchester Lions Club, where he received his 55-year Monarch Milestone Chevron award in Sept. 2006. He was also a member of the Hampstead American Legion Post 200 and a lifetime member of the United Coon Hunters Assoc.

Surviving are children and spouses Charles H. Lutz Jr. and Karen Lutz of Salisbury, Babette "Betty" and Lee Leister of Westminster, James L. Lutz of Manchester and W. Joseph Lutz of Wisconsin; brother and sister-in-law Adam and Regina Lutz of Baltimore; a sister, Dorothy Freund of Baltimore; grandchildren Kim and Michael Lutz, Jennifer and husband Tim Emge III and Sam W. Leister; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of Lucille Lutz, who died Dec. 22, 2007.

He was predeceased by siblings Helen Walsh, Evelyn Camponeschi and Jess Lutz.

A joint funeral service for father and daughter will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Interment will be in St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church Cemetery in Manchester.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
