Charles Richard Mccracken, Jr.

Charles Richard McCracken, Jr., 85, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. Born on October 20, 1938, in Youngstown, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Richard McCracken, Sr., and Sadie Stairs McCracken. He was the beloved husband of 30 years to Joyce M. McCracken.

Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a landscaper for his uncle before becoming a groundskeeper for Baltimore County Board of Education. Charles enjoyed woodworking, birdwatching, and spending time with his dog, Sampson. He was a quiet man who always had time to help those in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him in addition to his wife is a stepson: Albert Cash, grandchildren: Amber Donnelly, Kimberly Cash, and Aaron Cash, and a sister: Connie Dushong.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter: Nicole Cash, and a brother: Edward McCracken.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 11 am – 12 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD, 21117, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm.

Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
