Charles Joseph Schmitt, Jr.

Charles Joseph Schmitt, Jr., 94, of Westminster, formerly of Finksburg, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Brightview Westminster Ridge. Born on July 22, 1923, in New York, he was the son of the late Charles Joseph, Sr., and Elizabeth Prekopi Schmitt.  He was the husband of the late Frieda Hanna Schmitt.

Charles worked for many years as an engineer and supervisor at Grumman Aircraft. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army and Airforce and served his country in World War II.

Surviving him are children: Jeanne Watkins and husband Robert of New York, and Elizabeth Jeppesen and husband Dave Giddens of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was predeceased by a son: Charles Joseph Schmitt.

Services and interment are private.
