Charles Richard Winegard, 82, of Fruitland Park, FL, formerly of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Florida. Born on October 21, 1935 in New York, he was the son of the late Claude and Beatrice Winegard.
Charles was a skilled shoemaker by profession his entire life, and owned several shoe factories and stores. One of his passions was driving and he owned many specialty cars. Even though he was retired, he still drove for various car dealerships in Florida. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. More than all of this, his greatest devotion was to his family and he gave his life to being a loving father and grandfather.
Surviving him is daughter: Robin Hadel and husband Marc Binkley, granddaughter: Sarah Hadel, great grandchildren: Bailey Milne (U.S. Marine), Annabelle and Aiden Milne, Ava Gordon and Sammy Newport, niece: Claudia Nucci, ex-wives and close friends: Natalie Rallis and Dianne Redding.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter: Katie Hadel, and life partner: Shirley Whitcraft.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 11:30 am at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation, 4330 East West Highway, Suite 230, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
