Christopher Francis Newell

Christopher Francis Newell, 52, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Born on March 3, 1969, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Daniel L. and Mary Clare Appel Newell.

Christopher was a graduate of Calvert Hall and Towson State University. He was formerly an O.T.C. Trader for Ferris, Baker, Watts Brokerage in Baltimore, MD, and was currently the owner and operator of Sublime Athletics. Christopher competed in many triathlons and marathons, including multiple Iron Man competitions and The Nissan Xterra World Championships in Hawaii. He also won the Maryland Championship for mountain biking. He was a talented musician, excelled at playing classical piano, and was an accomplished guitarist. Christopher was always a lover of animals, especially dogs.

Surviving him are siblings: Eva Newell, Daniel Newell, Walter Newell, and May Jeppi and husband John, and friend: Ann Kraus, nieces: Katie Clare Jeppi and Virginia Lee Jeppi, and nephews: Walter Nicholas Newell and Gregory Joseph Akers.

He was predeceased by a brother: Gregory Newell.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a rosary to begin at 7 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 9, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071. Interment to follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
