Clarence Elwood Wirts, Sr, 93, of Westminster formerly of Owings Mills passed away peacefully at the Dove House surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, August 7, 2016.
Born December 13, 1922 in Owings Mills, he was the son of the late Robert B. Wirts and Elizabeth S. Wirts, nee Brunnett. He was the husband of Elizabeth June "Betty" Wirts, nee Coyle, who passed away in 1994.
He was a retired supervisor in construction and a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his children Clarence E. "Butch" Wirts, Jr., Gordon C. Wirts, Kathleen M. Markey, Susan R. Wirts, and Eleanor M. Walters; his sister Marjorie Noble; his 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 14, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills (21117), where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Art Monroe officiating. Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wirts name to the Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
