Claudia Grey Jenkins, 64, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Villages.
Born Oct. 16, 1947, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of Lydia Yox, of Hanover, and the late Walter Merryman; and is the stepdaughter of Calvin Yox. She was the wife of David L. Jenkins.
After graduating from Frostburg University, she taught in Keyser, W.Va., for several years and retired from the Carroll County school system.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, stepfather and husband, are brother George Merryman and wife Pat, of Manchester; aunts Velma Beil, and Sylvia Jackson and husband Peter, of Hanover; mother-in-law, Betty Jenkins, of Frostburg; a brother-in-law, Mike Jenkins, of Frostburg; sister-in-law Linda Lashbaugh and husband George, of Winchester, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick St., Hanover, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association , 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, Suite 415, Maitland, FL 32751.
