Cory Lee Mason

Cory Lee Mason, age 23, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at his home in Manchester, MD. He was the cherished son of Samuel Kile and Joan Loughrey Mason.

Born April 25, 1994, in Roanoke, VA, he moved with his family to Westminster, MD at age 17 months and lived in Manchester for 8 years before his death. He attended St. John Catholic School, The Cardinal Gibbons School and graduated in 2012 from Manchester Valley High School.

Cory loved life and embraced it at full speed. He knew no strangers; he was genuinely kind and empathetic. He had a big heart. While trying to find his niche in life, he had many different jobs. But what Cory really loved was riding and racing dirt bikes, snowboarding, hunting, fishing and playing lacrosse. He was never without a smile and laughed often.

In addition to his parents Cory will forever be missed by his grandparents, Joseph M. and Jeanne B. Loughrey, Jr of Davenport, FL; his siblings Sean Kile, Adam Scott, Abby Marie, Sara Elizabeth, Alec Kent and Luke Thomas, all of Manchester, MD; a nephew, Owen Garrison; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and innumerable friends.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102 on Monday, March 19 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. A Requiem Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 20 at 10 am at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester with Father Michael Roach and Father Brian Nolan concelebrants. Interment to follow in Hampstead Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
