Dan King Burgess age 80 of Westminster, MD. formally of Reisterstown, MD. died Saturday May 12, 2012 at the Longview Nursing Home in Manchester, MD.
Born April 30, 1923 in Baltimore, MD. he was the son of the late Rob Roy and Ruth King Burgess.
Twice married he was the husband of the late Geraldine McCarthy Burgess who died in 1993 and the late Joan Louise Burgess who died in 2009.
He was a retired liquor salesman. He had owned and operated 194 Liquor Store in Taneytown, MD. for many years. He also sold products for Lance Company for years. He enjoyed sports, fishing and working in his yard.
He is survived by his children: Terry Crowl and husband Andy of Manchester, MD., Rob Roy Burgess and wife Barbara of Finksburg, MD. and Scott J. Burgess of Westminster, MD. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter: Dawn Peltzer and siblings: Rob Roy Burgess, Helen Tunney and Peggy Baker.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD. 21048 on Wednesday May 16, 2012 at 10:00am. with the Rev. Norma Schenning officiating.
