Darryl Rodney Brooks, affectionately known as Big Rod to his close friends and family, was born on February 18, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Mary Elizabeth Brooks and Alfred E Tucker, Jr. He passed away on May 18, 2025, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Maryland.

Rodney enjoyed his special bond with his sister and late mother as they loved the casino.
He enjoyed family vacations to Maine, Rhode Island, Assateague Island and Ocean City just to name a few.
Rodney leaves behind a cherished legacy as the father of Rodney and Selina Myers.
He is survived by brothers, Marvin Brooks, Sr., (Barbara), Reginald Brooks, Sr., (Renee), brother Irvin Brooks (who preceded him in death), one sister, Vonnetta Brooks, two uncles, Rufus Charles (Patricia) and Miles Charles, great-aunt Rosita Johnson.
